Over the last number of weeks, children and young people from the local primary and post-primary schools in the Bogside, Bishop Street and Fountain neighbourhoods have been taking part in a short story and poetry competition.
A selection of the best stories have been compiled into a printed and digital publication, 'Scary Derry' which was launched by Féile last Friday morning last with copies delivered to the schools who took part as well as tokens for those who got their stories published.

A spokesperson for Féile said: "We have been blown away by the imagination and quality of the
writing from our local students.
"Thanks to all the students and teachers from Long Tower Primary School Gaelscoil Éadain
Mhóir, Nazareth House P.S, Fountain Primary School and Nursery Unit, St Eugene's Primary
School and Lumen Christi College who took part in this initiative."
The initiative is part of Féile's new programme, Connect:Interact:Create which is funded by the Executive Office. The year-long programme features a variety of cultural events, initiatives, programmes and festivals across the Bogside, Bishop Street and Fountain neighbourhoods.
