Madrid will be the venue for the beatification of Sister Clare Crockett this weekend.

The Derry nun that sadly passed away due to the 2016 Ecuador earthquake, will be beatified in the Spanish capital on Sunday.

Beatification is the declaration by the Pope that a dead person is in a state of bliss, constituting a first step towards canonization and permitting public veneration.

Sister Clare Crockett worked in Spain, the United States and Ecuador, doing pastoral care duties, hospital chaplaincy, teaching and missionary outreach.

A number of healings and fertility miracles have reputedly been attributed to her by people who prayed for her intercession, which has led to this beatification.

Brunswick Moviebowl in Derry will be showing the ceremony @4.30pm on Sunday with tickets available through the following link.

While you can watch the ceremony through a link to the live stream on YouTube here.
