Derry and Glen’s Watty Graham’s GAC were the most watched matches on TG4 in 2024.
TG4 have shared their viewing statistics for 2024 with the Irish language channel with growth across TV, online, and social media.
Their statistics suggest that over 80% of the Irish population—equating to 3.73 million people—tuned into TG4 at some point during the year.
The channel's audience share rose from 2.1% in 2023 to 2.2% in 2024, their highest audience share since 2009, cementing its status as Ireland's 7th most-watched channel for the second consecutive year.
TG4 Player also witnessed growth with 4.3 million video views (VOD & Live), a 23% increase, and 80 million views across TG4’s social media channels.
The channel has been a main broadcaster of Gaelic games and rugby in Ireland, and in 2024 Derry proved to be the county that drew in the viewers to the channel for sport.
The AIB Club Football Final (Watty Graham’s GAC vs. St. Brigid’s) drew an audience of 263,600, making it the year’s most-watched programme.
While the Allianz Football League Final (Dublin vs. Derry) attracted 230,900 viewers, and the Peil na mBan Final (Galway vs. Kerry) was among the channel’s top 10 broadcasts.
