The family of Fíanna Harkin have expressed their heartfelt thanks for the support shown by the local community after an incredible Festival 4 Fíanna event at the weekend.
The Festival 4 Fíanna Fun Day was hosted at Ballinascreen GAC and was followed by a Festival 4 Fianna Colour Run with hundreds in attendance to enjoy a special, colourful and emotional day for all involved.
The local community was devastated when 4-year-old Fianna passed away last year, but this weekend's event showed that she will never be forgotten with mum Karen Harkin expressing her gratitude at the support the family received.
"Now that everything has settled, I just want to say a massive thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the support, kindness, dedication, and hours of hard work you all put into Festival 4 Fíanna," she said.
"This was one of the hardest weekends of our lives, but your love and support made it that little bit easier. Festival 4 Fíanna was a huge undertaking because I wanted to honour her wee life and mark her first anniversary in the biggest way we could. And we did just that.

"But the truth is, none of this would have been possible without the incredible support of Ballinascreen GAC, St. Colm's High School, Draperstown St Mary's PS Draperstown , local businesses, Eddie Nash with our Derry referees, all the photographers, our family, friends, this amazing community and many more.
"I’ve been absolutely inundated with emails, messages, and phone calls from so many clubs and individuals, each one filled with kind wishes, support, and lovely words of thanks.
"Hearing how much you all enjoyed yourselves and how much the weekend meant to you truly means the world to us. That’s exactly what Festival 4 Fíanna was all about: bringing people together in love, joy, and remembrance. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts, for joining us in remembering and honouring our beautiful Fíanna. We are forever grateful."
