Meeting of Historic Buildings Council held in Bellaghy

Mid-Ulster District Councillors Seán McPeake and Ian Milne were invited to attend a meeting of Historic Buildings Council in Bellaghy Bawn last week.
Councillor Milne is the Mid-Ulster District Council representative of ‘HomeBawn Interim Board’ which has been created to oversee the preparation for amalgamation of Seamus Heaney HomePlace and Bellaghy Bawn into a single corporate entity in 2026.
Councillor McPeake is current Chairperson of Mid-Ulster District Council Planning Committee and also sits on Mid-Ulster District Council ‘HomeBawn Working Group’.
The councillors were briefed on progress on the €4.6m Shared Island funded scheme and the preparation for the commencement to the regenerative works to HomeBawn and to Castle Street Bellaghy which links the two sites.
