Traffic lights set on fire in third night of Derry disorder

A third night of disorder has occurred in Derry this evening (Tuesday, June 18).

Shortly before 8 00pm motorists were advised to avoid the Templemore Road in Galliagh where items were set on fire in the vicinity of the roundabout.

A short time later plastic barricades were set on fire on Glengalliagh Road, close to the Leafair Wellbeing Centre.

Tyres and a set of traffic light were also set on fire, and are now out of operation.

Motorists are advised, if possible, to avoid the area and take an alternative route.
