Donemana have assumed outright leadership of the Long's SuperValu Section 1 table after they extended their unbeaten league run to four matches with a 7-wicket victory against Ardmore at the Bleachgreen.

Junaid Ali made 50 for the home side in their total of 184 all, with cameos from Bobby Brolly (25), Harry Zimmermann (23) and Vivek Sheoran (23), while Andy McBrine (3-30), Anuj Jotin (2-36) and Gary McClintock (2-30) were best with the ball for the visitors.

Donemana's batting order has a very solid look about it this season and the target looked well within their grasp at half way.

So it proved too - Raymond Curry anchoring the reply with 47 not out while the top order all contributed to a comfortable success.

Jamie Huey made 31, Jotin 30, skipper McClintock 24 and Warriors captain McBrine 21* as Donemana went marching on.

Coleraine seemed set to follow suit, however skipper Rory Knox will have cut a frustrated figure as they headed back up the north coast after a 1-wicket defeat at Newbuildings.

David Cooke batted beautifully in idyllic conditions at Foyle View arena; the former Ireland man hitting 11 fours and 2 sixes in his 82 as the Bannsiders set their hosts a target of 225-7 from their 50 overs.

Louren Steenkamp chipped in with 32, James Panek 25*, Knox 24 and Craig Averill 20 in what looked to be a competitive total- Ryan Hunter (3-26) the pick of the home team's bowling.

That target appeared a long way off as Coleraine reduced Newbuildings to 116-7 in reply, courtesy of 57 from Gareth McKeegan, 30 from Hunter and 25 from Gregory McFaul, with Gareth Burns (3-38) and Stephen Hutchinson (2-39) doing the bulk of the damage with the ball.

Despite that late resistance, the last two batsmen came together with 45 still needed to win, however Charlie Downey and Jack McIntyre proved a lot more defiant than the top order.

Try though they did, Coleraine couldn't split them- Downey unbeaten on 41 and McIntyre on 18 as Newbuildings won an absolute thriller.

Brigade posted a comfortable 120-run win up at Bready as Anuk Fernando (75), Cameron Melly (63) and Scott Macbeth (50) were all among the runs for Andy Britton's team.

David Barr chipped in with 20 as well, while for the home side, young Travis Faulkner continued his rise through the ranks with figures of 4-48.

Josh van Heerdon picked up 2-32 as Brigade's innings closed on 270-9, however Bready's indifferent run with the bat reared its head again in their reply.

Six for Jonny Robinson as Fox Lodge beat St Johnston.

Skipper Ian Young dug deep to make an unbeaten 50 in the middle order, but him apart, only David Scanlon (19) offered much in the way of resistance.

Two wickets apiece for David Barr, skipper Britton and Macbeth ensured a full haul of points for the visitors.

The final game in the division was between the two team occupying the bottom places in the table and saw Strabane just about hold their nerve to beat Eglinton by 2 wickets at the Park.

Batting first, the villagers posted 232-8 from their allotted overs, courtesy of a superb 116 not out from Jamie Millar.

The villagers' skipper hit 10 fours and 2 sixes in his knock, with support coming in the form of Jack Martin who made 44.

Overseas man Ranitha, John Mooney and TJ Boyd all picked up two wickets apiece for the home side.

Strabane's reply was anchored by Ranitha in much the same way as Millar had for Eglinton; the Sri Lankan stroking 15 fours and a six in his 113.

Such was his dominance that the second highest score was Subhan Shirzad's 17, however the canny John Mooney navigated the tail through the final few overs as the Red Caps scrambled over the line with 2 wickets and 8 balls to spare.

A narrow win it may be, but a huge one nonetheless as Strabane gave themselves vital points at the bottom end.

Boundary for David Cooke at Newbuildings.

In Section 2, Fox Lodge won the big game of the day- a 4-wicket verdict over St Johnston in sunny Donegal as they remain unbeaten at the top of the table.

Barry Scott made 40, David Lapsley 34 Matthew Orr 26 and Ryan Diesel McAuley 19* as the Saints posted 189-9; Adam Walker (4-40) and Aaron Heywood (2-46) faring best of the visitors' attack.

Gayan Maneeshan again led from the front for the Foxes- his 73 (11 fours and a six) along with 35 from Ivan McNeill, 32* from skipper Jonny Robinson and 22 from Brian Allen enough to see them chase the target down.

David Anthony (3-20) and Nathan Cole (2-17) bowled well for the home team, but it was a deserved win for the Ballymagorry outfit.

There were no shortage of runs up at the Glen where the Bee Gees racked up 327-7 and restricted Glendermott to 249 in reply.

Divan Posthumus was the unanimous choice as man-of-the-match here; hitting 148 (17 fours, 7 sixes) in the home team's big total, and then taking 3-28 as Glendermott fell well short.

Samuel Haslett made 68 in a 218-run partnership with Divan with Stephen Dunn adding a late 27*, while Adam Boyd (3-28) and JJ O'Brien (2-41) bowled best for the Rectory men.

The runs were shared as Glendermott battled hard in the second innings- Ben Mills top scoring with 49, Jake Montgomery making 38, Alan Johnson 34, Curtis Ross 33, Craig Doherty 22 and Trevor Britton 21.

It was to be Divan and Bonds Glen's day however, Dharm Singh (2-41) helping to tidy things up in a 78-run win.

The final game of the day was another thriller as Stuart Kennedy and Isaac Bird combined to help Ballyspallen beat Killyclooney by a diminishing two wickets.

Runs for Coleraine's James Panek on Saturday.

Aron Visser made 69 and Kenzie Hall 41 as the home side posted a total of 174- Bird helping himself to 5-32 and Pushpender Singh 3-60 for the Roe Valley side.

For once, Spallen's top order struggled; Graham Kennedy's 22 the best of their reply early on as Giles Moan dominated for excellent figures of 5-31.

The visitors weren't done however, and found willing resistance from the very under-rated Stuart Kennedy, who hit 5 fours and 7 sixes in his unbeaten 85 that kept his side's own unbeaten league start going.
