Old time caravans belonging to two Maghera men have been catching the attention of locals throughout the North West.
William Agnew and good friend Seamus McCrystal travelled the old time way in their caravans from the County Derry town of Maghera to County Donegal town of Carndonagh for a recent festival.
Along the way the pair stopped off at Doagh Famine Village in Co. Donegal where their vintage style touring caravans caught the eye of the Irish heritage centre.
Doagh Famine Village shared a snap of the pair on Facebook saying: “A holiday with a difference. Thanks for visiting.”
Speaking on the experience of life in a vardo style caravan, William said: “It is great to go away travelling in the caravans. We purchased ours from a man in Magherafelt who was making them a while ago. He then retired, they are few in far between these days so we were lucky enough to get them when we did. We can go where we like in them, there’s a wee bed, cooker and fridge so we can work away. When we are travelling in them and going through any town we get a lot of attention. People will video and take photographs of us any time we pass through. They definitely get a lot of attraction.”
