Previous protest outside Moyola Precision Engineering in Castledawson
A walk has been organised in support of the people of Gaza and Palestine.
The walk has been arranged by Mid-Ulster IPSC and will take place in Bellaghy on Friday, September 5.
Supporters are being asked to meet at Church Island car park and continue to the walk on Seamus Heaney boardwalk.
The group has urged the public to come along, speak up and walk against injustice and the arms trade. They have called for people to bring drums, bring their voices, drum with them, and walk with them.
Mid-Ulster IPSC are also calling for Castledawson company Moyola Precision Engineering to divest F-35 warplane parts. The group has previously held protests outside the firm’s premises in Castledawson.
The company makes F-35 warplane parts. The same parts are used in Israeli fighter planes in Gaza.
CEO of Moyola Precision Engineering Mark Semple previously told the County Derry Post they “do not supply any Israeli companies with parts or service” after it emerged in previous media reports that the company had received funding from Invest NI for the past 22 years with some allocated in 2023/24.
Regarding this Moyola Precision Engineering made clear that “they have never received funding from Invest NI in support of the F-35 program either directly or indirectly.”
