When police responded to a report of an unconscious female at an address they discovered a woman who was on bail and so she was in breach of her conditions.

Amy Tracey (37) of Rosses Gate in Derry appeared charged with breaching her bail by being in possession of class C drugs and also being in breach of curfew.

She was also said to have breached the conditions for having to attend her GP.

A police officer said Tracey had 20 previous convictions and he believed she could not abide by any conditions.

Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley said his client had 'a huge problem with drugs' but she had engaged with her GP and was on a waiting list for other assistance.

The solicitor said that Tracey could well end up as another drug statistic if she was not careful.

The defendant was granted bail on condition she observe a curfew, report to police three times a week and refrain from all illegal drugs.

She will appear again on October 3.
