Roe Valley Arts Centre in Limavady is delighted to welcome the audience for a very special Culture Night concert featuring the acclaimed all female quartet Women in Black on Friday, September 19.
Made up for four outstanding musicians – Ursula McHugh (vocals), Dee Doherty (Piano), Jude Murphy (Double bass/sax and flute), Rebecca Montgomery (Drums) with special guest Jacqueline McKay (5 String Fiddle Player), this promises to be an unforgettable evening of music.
Fresh from a sell-out debut earlier this year at New Gate Arts and Cultural Centre, in partnership with The City of Derry Jazz and Big Band Festival, the group is fast earning a reputation for the mesmerising performances.
This powerhouse all-female quartet will sweep you away with stunning music, beautiful harmonies and exquisite melodies, from the golden era as well as modern day favourites. The ease with which they use humour and personality link the songs through the journey of the evening creating an ambiance that captivates audiences from the very first note!
"Shifting easily between the slick and melancholy, MCHUGH fills the room with a dreamlike, romantic quality... MCHUGH is living proof of the fact that "it's never too late to follow your dream". She doesn't just hold back the years; she rolls them back. Effortlessly." Simon Fallaha (Freelance Journalist)
"A beautifully-pitched individual voice; fresh, original versions of the classics." KEVIN MCALEER, Comedian
Tickets are £15 and are available from RVACC or by calling the Box Office on 028 7776 0310.
