United Against Racism have teamed up with North West Cricket Union to celebrate the incredible contribution to diversity and inclusion that the sport has brought to the region.

People Before Profit Cllr Shaun Harkin said: "Trump, Tommy Robinson and the DUP fuelled racist lies resulting in violent attacks on anyone not fitting the far-right's criteria of 'local'.

“A majority of people don't support the scapegoating and fear mongering. But the poison is funded by Musk and billionaires using their control of social media. We need to dispel the misinformation and show there is an alternative to division.

“Our house is looking forward to giving cricket a go at the "Sports for All" fun day organised by United Against Racism Derry and North West at Bready Cricket Club.

“It's great to see the wide support for the "Ireland Against Racism Carnival" in Dublin. The response to the wave of racist violence and protests across the South is gaining momentum and strength.

“We need more solidarity and less divisive hatred. Punching down reinforces the power of elites. Let's keep punching up at the parasite billionaires, the genocide profiteers, greedy landlords and government that's facilitating them."

A 'Sports for All Fun Day' is planned to take place tomorrow (Saturday, September 20) at Bready Cricket Club beginning at 11.00am.
