On Thursday, a protest was held at the Diamond, Magherafelt, demanding government action to 'ensure safe release of Irish citizens kidnapped by Israel from the Global Sumud Flotilla in International waters'.
A sizeable crowd braved the wet weather to demand international law be upheld, and for the immediate safe release of activists like Greta Thunberg and Irish citizens onboard.
Support was also given to the Thousand Madleens flotilla and upcoming attempts to break the siege.
“The media is remarkably silent about the continued, illegal detention of flotilla personnel abducted in International Waters. 16 Irish people are currently 'enjoying' Zionist 'hospitality' in a vindictive effort to 'punish' efforts to counter the Genocide agenda," Mid Ulster IPSC spokesperson Gavin Casey later said.
"All and any of the hostages could have been released immediately. Holding them in prisons for any length of time, now almost a week, is the action of a Terror State.”
Last week, hundreds of people joined the Mid Ulster March Against Genocide from Magherafelt to Moyola Precision Engineering in Castledawson, protesting the government's funding of F-35 part factories complicit in genocide.
Pádraig Mac Niocaill from the Mid Ulster IPSC said at the protest: “Earlier this month, InvestNI and Moyola Precision Engineering exhibited at the Defences and Security Equipment International (DSEI) exhibition in London, the World's largest arms fair.
"This was while a worldwide Freedom Flotilla attempted to break the siege of Gaza, and bring aid to the very people being bombed by those arms.
"Shame on our government for their complicity, and shame on them for funding factories that create parts for the warplanes carrying out the genocide."
