'Play and Stay' program gets a 'spooktaculars start at Creggan Preschool & Training Trust

The family support centre launched their Pathways-funded Play and Stay programme this term with a ‘fang-tastic’ Halloween-themed celebration on Friday last.

During the magical morning the centre buzzed with excitement as 47 toddlers aged 1–3 years along with their siblings, parents, and grandparents, gathered for the very first parent-and-toddler session this term. All in attendance were treated to a jam-packed morning of age-appropriate fun, bursting with creativity, colour, and community spirit.

From Messy and Sensory Play to Spooky Crafts and Creations, the little ones explored a world of textures and imagination.

Centre manager Sharon Doherty said she was delighted with the turnout and everyone had fun.

‘Their wee faces were transformed with vibrant face painting, and the ever-popular Kidz Farm brought smiles and squeals of delight.

‘I’d like to thank the many local organisations who joined forces with our passionate and caring staff to deliver a truly memorable experience tailored to the needs of every child who attended today.’

Looking ahead, CPTT is dreaming even bigger — with plans underway to develop a brand-new sensory space within the centre. This inclusive area will offer children with additional needs a calm, engaging environment to explore and thrive. To kickstart fundraising efforts, the team hosted a raffle and fun games during the event, raising an impressive £275 toward the project.

A heartfelt thank you to all the families who joined in the fun and helped make the launch such a joyful success.
