Sad passing of Sr Anna Maria Byrne former Good Shepherd Sister

The death has been announced of Sr Anna Maria Byrne, formerly of the Congregation of the Good Shepherd Sisters in Derry.
Sr Anna Maria was the daughter of the late John and Catherine, formerly of Oldcastle, Coachford, County Cork.
She died peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Daleview Nursing Home, Derry on November 6, 2025.
Sr Anna was the beloved sister of the late Teddy, Dan, Rita, Tom and baby Anthony.
He death is deeply regretted by her nieces and nephews and extended family and she will be sorely missed by her sorrowing community of Good Shepherd Sisters in Derry, Ireland, India and Worldwide.
Sr Anna Maria’s remains will be reposing at the Good Shepherd Convent Oratory, 38 Dungiven Road, tomorrow, Saturday, November 8, from 3pm to 8.30pm. Her remains will leave the Convent Oratory on Sunday, November 9 at 5.15pm for 5.30pm arrival to St. Columb’s Church, Chapel Rd to repose overnight.
Sr Anna Maria’s Requiem Mass will then take place on Monday, November 10 at 10am. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Ardmore.
