Residents are invited to the public meeting this weekend.

Residents living in the Claudy, Park and Craigbane areas are being urged to attend a public meeting which is being held in opposition to an 'industrial wind factory development' in the Sperrins.

The 'wind factory' which is understood to have the biggest turbines in the North is being proposed for The Moat, a mountain summit in the heart of the Sperrins.

During the public meeting, which is being held in Aughabrack Hall on Sunday, November 16 from 7pm to 9pm, attendees will have the chance to hear about what is being planned.

Organisers of the meeting from the Save The Moat group say the event will also be a chance to find out how the proposed Mullaghclogher Wind Farm will affect 'lives, homes, health and wellbeing, livelihoods and children's futures'.

The meeting will also be an opportunity for people to 'stand up and have their say'.

If all the communities affected by this stand together and speak with one voice against a development that threatens real harm and destruction, our message will be clear. No means no,” a spokesperson for Save The Moat said.
