The body of missing Limavady man Ian Scott was recovered from the River Roe earlier today.
Searches in the Limavady area concluded this afternoon following the sad discovery.
Mr Scott, who had been missing for eight days, was last seen at 1pm on November 3 after leaving his home on foot.
The 56 year-old's last confirmed sighting was on the Roe Mill Road early last Monday afternoon.
Over the last number of days, searches have been carried out in the town and surrounding areas.
Volunteers from Community Rescue Service had been involved in the ongoing search alongside the PSNI and local volunteers.
In a statement this evening, the PSNI confirmed the news.
"Police can confirm that the body of a man was recovered from the River Roe in Limavady this afternoon, Tuesday 11th November," a spokesperson said.
"Formal identification has taken place, and the deceased has been identified as Ian Scott who was reported missing to police on Monday, 3rd November.
"Mr Scott’s family have been informed – and our thoughts are with them.
"We extend our thanks and appreciation to Community Rescue Service (CRS) colleagues, and the local community for their efforts with co-ordinated searches and support."
