Talented Limavady photographer Rachel Cassidy has launched a stunning scenic charity 2026 calendar to raise funds for Dementia Concern Causeway, following the success of her 2025 edition.

As the 2025 calendars sold out rapidly last autumn, Rachel warned demand is expected to be high for the new 2026 calendar and suggested interested customers should buy early.

The calendars will be available for purchase at Café Steinbeck, The Yellow Bird, and Antoinette’s Café in Limavady and at the Age Concern Causeway Charity Shop in Coleraine.

This limited-edition release calendars showcase breath-taking images captured around the Roe Valley and Causeway Coast and represent a perfect Christmas present for locals and those far from home.

Priced at £10, every penny raised will go directly to Dementia Concern Causeway, supporting their invaluable work in the local community.

Rachel explained the background to her charity calendar and thanked those involved in helping to sell it.

Following on from the huge success of my 2025 charity calendar, I was very keen to continue supporting another local charity this year, and my 2026 charity calendars will be available from November in a number of local venues in Limavady and Coleraine,” she said.

I would like to say a big thank you to the following ladies who have very kindly agreed to sell my calendars in their businesses in Limavady, their generous charitable work in our local community helps to make such a difference in the lives of many.

Thank you to Shirley Alcorn for selling them in Antoinette’s Café, Market Street, Julie Brolly at Café Steinbeck, Main Street, and Margaret-Ann Sexton at The Yellow Bird, Newtown Square.

The calendars will also be on sale in the Age Concern Causeway Charity Shop on Brook Street, Coleraine.”

Rachel, whose talent for capturing the beauty of the Limavady landscape is widely recognised, expressed why contributing to this meaningful cause is so important to her:

My chosen charity this year is Dementia Concern Causeway, known as Age Concern Causeway since they were first established in 1977, but they have recently changed their name to Dementia Concern Causeway.

The main goal of the charity is to help keep people living with dementia in their own homes and maintain independence for as long as possible.

The charity provides support through groups and on a one-to-one basis, helping to support people living with dementia and their families in the Causeway Coast and Glens area to stay active, connected, and to maintain and share their hobbies, interests, and experiences with one another.”

Dementia Concern Causeway operates eight support groups across Ballycastle, Ballymoney, Portrush, Coleraine, Limavady, and Garvagh, offering cognitive stimulation alongside enjoyable social interaction.

Their one-to-one support service provides weekly home visits from staff, giving individuals the chance to enjoy friendly conversation and companionship for an hour each week.

The organisation also runs a charity shop in Coleraine and a welcoming Dementia Café every Wednesday from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. at Hope2Families in Coleraine.

Open to anyone living with dementia, those awaiting memory assessment, and their carers or family members, the café is free to attend.

Visitors can enjoy dementia-friendly activities such as crafts, quizzes, reminiscence sessions, and singing, in a warm, supportive atmosphere filled with fun, laughter, and plenty of tea, coffee and cake.

Rachel shared her hope that this year’s calendar will not only bring joy to those who buy it but also make a meaningful contribution to a very worthy cause:

I hope this year everyone will be able to call into the venues in Limavady or Coleraine to get a calendar and help support those who are going through the journey of living with dementia and their families.

One of my biggest challenges in creating my calendars is deciding on what images to include, as people have very different tastes when it comes to photography.

We live in such a beautiful part of the world, and I hope that everyone enjoys the scenes in this year’s calendar, taken from various locations in the Causeway Coast and Glens area.

I would also like to take the opportunity to thank all those who very kindly purchased my 2025 charity calendar, I was overwhelmed by the support and kindness from my local community and beyond.

I was thrilled to hear that my calendars ended up as Christmas gifts sent far and wide all over the world, as far away as Australia, Singapore, Costa Rica, and New York, to name just a few places.

It was a reminder of home for loved ones and most importantly, a chance to support a worthy cause.

Thank you to everyone who has contacted me this year about my 2026 calendar, your continued support means so much, and together, we can help make a difference.”
