A woman who has breached her bail on numerous occasions has been remanded in custody at Derry Magistrates' Court after a judge said he had no confidence she would adhere to her conditions.
Courtney Temple (21) of Magazine Street in Derry is currently on bail awaiting sentence on a charge of assault on a man on September 6 last year.
She is due to be sentenced in the Crown Court along with her co-accused on December 15.
A police officer told the court that police on patrol in Bridge Street at 1.55pm on November 13.
They observed Temple drinking alcohol in breach of her bail conditions and spoke to her.
A breath test revealed a reading of 75mgs more than twice the legal limit.
While police were speaking to Temple she took a small bottle of whiskey from her pocket and gave it to another street drinker.
The officer said this was Temple's 15th breach of bail and the court was told that she cannot abide by simple conditions.
Defence counsel Sinead Rogan said th8s defendant was in the Crown Court due to her co-accused and this has led to delays in the case.
She said that there had been no new offences and added there was a 'cycle' here where Temple was released on bail then breaches her bail and is remanded again.
Deputy District Judge Alan White said that Temple's difficulties were 'her own fault' and remanded her in custody to appear at the Crown Court on December 15.
