Police conclude investigation into Derry 'homophobic hate crime' assault

Police are satisfied no crime the nature of what was reported occurred

Police in Derry investigating the report of an assault in the city last weekend, in the vicinity of the Peace Bridge, have concluded their enquiries. The incident was being investigaged as a homophobic hate crime.

Following these enquiries into what was being investigated, at the time, as a homophobic hate crime, police are satisfied no crime the nature of what was reported occurred.

Police are no longer appealing for witnesses, and want to thank everyone who assisted with enquiries and was involved in the investigation.

Police continue to encourage anyone who needs to make a report about an incident to do so by calling 101, or submit  a report online via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.
