The victim of yesterday's crash has been named by the PSNI.
The PSNI has confirmed the name of the man who sadly died following a two vehicle road traffic collision on the Windyhill Road, between Limavady and Coleraine yesterday (Thursday, November 20).
He was 57-year-old David Elder from the Ballymoney area.
Mr Elder sadly passed away at the scene of the collision which was reported shortly after 9.45am and involved a lorry and a white Peugeot Partner van.
Chief Inspector Celeste Simpson from the Collision Investigation Unit said: “Collision Investigation Unit detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances of this collision.
"We are particularly keen to hear from persons who witnessed the collision or captured dash-cam footage which may assist with our enquiries. If you can assist please contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 381 20/11/25.”
A Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) spokesperson said its thoughts and sympathies are with the loved ones of Mr Elder.
“Two Appliances from Coleraine Fire Station and one Appliance from Limavady Fire Station attended the incident yesterday morning (Thursday 20 November 2025).
“Firefighters made the scene safe and assisted other partner agencies. Tragically, a man, died at the scene.
“Firefighters left the scene at 10.58am.”
