A man has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court charged with disorderly behavior after confronting several bouncers in Waterloo Street.

Paul Stewart (32) of Crawford Square in Derry was charged with the offences that occurred on November 11 this year after he was said to have 'appeared looking for a fight' and claimed he was 'in the 'RA'.

He was taken into custody and CCTV showed him harassing a number of bouncers on Waterloo Street with his top off.

Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley said that Stewart was 'not the first person to make a fool of themselves with drink', adding that he was still relatively young and was 'ashamed of his behavior'.

He was sentenced to three months in custody, suspended for twelve months.
