A feast of entertainment greeted those who turned up (including the city and district’s Mayor, Ruairi McHugh) on Thursday afternoon for the Greater Shantallow Area Partnership’s Annual Christmas Networking event at their Northside Community Hub on Friday last.
Over 100 people were through the doors to chat, network, enjoy a feast of food and be entertained by bands from local schools – St. Columb’s College; St. Brigid’s College and the superb choir from St. Paul’s Primary School.
Speaking at Thursday’s event, Rory McParland, manager, Greater Shantallow Area Partnership said it was wonderful to see so many people turn up for what turned out a great success.
‘Because this year we celebrated our 30th birthday, the Trustees of GSAP decided it would be a great idea to hold a Christmas networking event to mark the occasion at our Northside headquarters. Today was about bringing all of our community partners, local schools, funders, training providers, facilitators, trustees and indeed, our own super staff under one roof to mark the occasion.
‘I must thank all the super musicians and singers from our local schools and colleges who made the day so special. A mention to the city and district’s Mayor, Ruairi McHugh for taking the time to come along and celebrate the event with us.’
Greater Shantallow Area Partnership will finish for Christmas and New Year holidays on Friday, 19th December and the GSAP manager also took the time to wish everyone a peaceful, happy Christmas and New Year.
‘We will open our doors on Monday, January 5 and look forward to starting 2026 on an upward trend regarding all things positive within our area.’
