Man charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent returned for trial

A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on charges of causing grievous bodily harm with intent following a Preliminary Enquiry at Derry Magistrates' Court.

Paul Barrett (30) of Tamneymore Park in Derry was charged with the offence that was said to have occurred on March 18, 2023.

It was accepted that there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.

Barrett chose not to call any witnesses and not to submit any statements.

He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on January 28 next year and released on bail.
