Derry man charged with child historical sex offences

A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on 22 historical indecent assault charges and two charges of gross indecency with a child.
Shane Kyle (49) from Knockalla Park in Derry appeared at a Preliminary Enquiry at the local Magistrates' Court today. 
He faced 22 charges of indecent assault on a female on dates between February 1, 1993 and January 31, 2007.
He was also charged with two counts of gross indecency with a child in the same time period.
It was accepted that there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions. 
Kyle said he did not want to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage. 
Kyle was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on February 2 and released on bail.
