The PSNI
Police in Derry are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a report of a road traffic collision on Monday, January 5, 2026.
The incident occurred at approximately 8.55pm at the junction of Racecourse Road and Buncrana Road.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have been in the area at the time and captured dashcam footage, to come forward.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “A blue VW Golf was stationary traffic on the Racecourse Road turning left onto the Buncrana Road, when it has been struck from behind by a dark coloured Crossover type vehicle which has not stopped to exchange details.
“Police would request that anyone who witnessed this or have dashcam footage contact police on 101 and quote reference number 933 of January 6, 2026.”
