Derry man charged with breaching Sexual Offences Protection Order

A man has been sentenced at Derry Magistrates' Court charged with breaching a sexual offences protection order.

Paul Farren (35) of John Street in Derry was charged with failing to inform police of his address within three days of being released from custody after getting out on December 19 last year.

He was arrested and denied bail on December 30.

Defence Barrister Stephen Chapman said that Farren had 'some reading difficulties' and didn't realize that he had to inform police within three days.

He was sentenced to three months in custody, suspended for twelve months.
