Altnagelvin Hospital Choir are once again looking forward to welcoming music lovers in County Derry and the North West to their annual concert opening the Winter season.
The acclaimed choral singers will perform Mozart’s Requiem on Saturday, January 31 at 7.30pm in Christchurch, Infirmary Road.
As usual, the generous community choir will donate proceeds of the concert to a chosen local charity and this year, Motor Neurone Disease Association (NI) are the grateful beneficiary.
Longstanding member of the choir, Mary Coyle encouraged the local community to join them on the night to enjoy an evening of choral music and support a worthy cause:
“Altnagelvin Hospital Choir starts our Winter season with a performance of Mozart’s Requiem.
“We are delighted to have excellent guest soloists and organist joining us for this concert.
“The choir is very proud of supporting charity through our concerts and events and this year we are supporting Motor Neurone Disease Association (NI).

The concert boasts some notable soloist performers including Alaw Grug Evans as Soprano, Lynda-Jane Nelson as Alto, Charlie Clarke-Hughes as Tenor, Ronald Davitt as Bass and Phillip Elliot playing the organ with Derek Collins conducting the choir.
Tickets for the concert are £15 and can be purchased online via trybooking.com/uk/FSMA or at the door on the night.
Altnagelvin Hospital Choir are a classical choir, singing in four voice parts, based at the hospital with members from all communities and from both sides of the border.
Membership is open to anyone from both within the health service and the wider communities, who loves to sing and has an appreciation of classical music.
Recently Altnagelvin Hospital Choir ended their busy 2025 season with performances at the Derry Jazz Festival, the ICU Remembrance service and two special carol services marking the festive period.
The choir performs two main fundraising concerts each year to support local and national charities with a focus on health and wellbeing.
They also perform at a number of other events for groups associated with the Western Health and Social Trust and civic events.
