A police officer who 'mentally tortured' his then partner threatening to set up an Only fans account in her name has been formally dismissed from the PSNI Derry Magistrate's Court heard today.

Kyle Millar (28) whose address was given as PSNI, Knock in Belfast admitted one charge of engaging in a course of behaviour deemed to be domestic abuse between February 21 2022 and March 6 2023.

A prosecutor told the court that the pair were together for around one year and seven months.

She said that during that time Millar was 'abusive, called her names and insulted her appearance.'

The court heard the defendant had a gambling addiction and the woman had given him £5 to £6,000.

At one stage the defendant threatened to open an Onlyfans account in her name.

The prosecution also said that Millar pushed the victim causing her to hit her head

A defence barrister said that the defendant had 'a significant road accident' in 2022 and this may have affected his behaviour.

He said Millar 'struggled with difficulties' but had since made positive changes in his life.

The barrister said that Millar had always wanted to be a police officer but had lost his career as his formal dismissal came through this week but added that this was his own fault.

District Judge Oonagh Mullan said that the victim's in this case had been put in 'an horrendous situation' and had suffered trauma as a result of Millar's actions.

She said there were aspects of the case she wanted to consider and adjourned sentencing until February 13.
