On Saturday, March 7, community members, local leaders, activists, and partner organisations from the Sperrin DEA will gather for a powerful Day of Action in Park village, standing united in the fight against gender-based violence.

Participants will assemble at Park Community Centre at 12noon on Saturday, March 7 and move peacefully through the village before concluding at the Community Centre.

The event aims to raise awareness, support survivors, and call for collective action to end gender-based violence in the local communities.

Min McCann, Manager at Learmount Community Development Group, said: "Gender-based violence continues to affect individuals and families across all sectors of society. This Day of Action provides an opportunity for the community to come together, amplify survivor voices, and demonstrate a shared commitment to safety, dignity, and equality for all.

“On 7 March, we stand together to send a clear message: gender-based violence has no place in our community. Through unity and action, we can drive meaningful change."

Event highlights include a peaceful community march through Park village and messages from community leaders and advocates.  There will also be information on available support services and  closing gathering and call to action at the community centre.

The event is open to the public and welcomes all who wish to stand in solidarity.
