Derry City and Strabane District councillor  Grace Uí Niallais (Sinn Féin) has encouraged people to explore events happening as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge, the largest international Irish language festival in the world.

The programme of events is taking place until 17 March, with this year’s theme, ‘A Ghaeilge, mo cheol thú', celebrating the connection between the Irish language and music.

“Be it Gaeilgeoirí, learners or those with a cúpla focal, Seachtain na Gaeilge gives everyone the chance to enjoy Irish," said the  Foyleside Councillor.

“This festival is one of the biggest celebrations of our native language and culture, taking place not just here in Ireland but across the globe.
