Derry man sent for trial on serious drug charges

Suspended sentence for Donegal man at Derry Magistrate's Court

A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on a number of drug charges following a Preliminary Enquiry at Derry Magistrate's Court.

Gary North (41) of Melrose Terrace in Derry was charged with, between January 9 and January 31 2024, being concerned in the supply of Class A and C drugs. 

He was alco charged with between December 20 2023 and January 31 2024, importing Class A and C drugs and, on January 31 2024, possession of Class B and C drugs.

It was accepted that there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.

North chose not to submit any statements and not to call any witnesses.

He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on April 4 and released on continuing bail.
