The CUPRA IPT Argento Cup has officially cemented Derry’s reputation as the new powerhouse of Irish padel, delivering a landmark weekend of elite competition at the state-of-the-art Let’s Go Padel facility.

As a premier fixture on the official Padel Federation of Ireland circuit, the tournament attracted 130 of the finest national and international players.

Competitors vied for a £10,000 prize fund - the highest ever offered for a padel tournament in Ireland and one of the most significant purses currently available on the global national circuit.

The event was driven by the vision of Peter Boyle, owner of Argento and Let’s Go Padel, whose investment has transformed the city into an epicentre for high-performance sport. The premium facility, featuring eight double and two single courts, provided the perfect stage for the fast-paced, professional play that defines one of the world’s fastest-growing sports.

The men’s final delivered high-stakes drama for the spectators with International stars Alberto Gasca (World No. 532) and Alejandro Urzola (World No. 362) claiming the title in a thrilling three-set comeback. After dropping a narrow first-set tiebreak to Nicolás Aguirre (World No. 442) and Álvaro Salcedo (Spain U18 No. 40), the pair dominated the remainder of the match to finish 6–7, 6–2, 6–3.

In the women’s draw, the Irish domestic elite took centre stage as Anna Zuka (Ireland No. 3) and Sinead Lohan (Ireland No. 27) asserted their dominance. The duo combined disciplined tactics and aggressive net play to defeat Amy Flynn (Ireland No. 4) and Katie Nolan (Ireland No. 6) in straight sets, 6–0, 6–4.

Speaking after the finals, Peter Boyle, owner of principal sponsor Argento, commented: “It’s been incredible to see top-level padel converge here in Derry. Hosting the CUPRA IPT Argento Cup at our Let’s Go Padel facilities, alongside Argento’s support, demonstrates the immense potential of the sport in Ireland.

The Irish Padel Tour extends its sincere thanks to Argento, Let’s Go Padel, partners, players, and fans for making this historic event possible.
