Derek Canning, 22 Elmgrove, Derry

The death has occurred of the late Derek Canning, March 10 2026, peacefully, at Altnagelvin Hospital, after a long illness, (formerly of Carnhill), beloved husband of Genevieve, loving father of Peter, Carol and the late Deborah, dear father-in-law to Raymond and Bredge, devoted grandfather of Ann-Marie, Caroline, Keely and Adam and great-grandfather of Cory, Lauren, Eva and Mason, dear son of the late Earnest and Jean, cherished brother of the late Dorothy and Victor and a loving uncle to all his nephews and nieces. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the entire family circle. Derek will be reposing at his home, 22 Elmgrove. Funeral leaving his home on Friday, March 13 at 9:20am to St. Patrick’s Church, Pennyburn for Requiem Mass at 10:00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Sacred Heart Of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Our Lady Of Lourdes intercede for him.

Brian Deehan, Ivy Terrace, Derry

The death has taken place of Brian Deehan, March 10 2026, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, late of Ivy Terrace, loving father of John Paul, Jmily, Brian and Odhran, devoted grandfather of Tiarnan, Luke, Brian, Conan, Oscar and Bosco and dear brother of Eileen, Isobel, Charles, Owen, Letitia and the late Kevin, Jackie and Jim. Sadly missed by Kathy, Louise, Yvonne and Teresa and all his extended family and friends. Brian will be reposing in the family home, 36 Westland Street. Funeral from there on Friday at 9.30am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in St Columba’s Church, Longtower. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Professor Tom Fraser, Derry

The death has occurred of the late Professor Tom Fraser, March 10 2026,  peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital. Much loved husband of Grace, dear father of Anna and Simon, father in law of Robyn and Jeremy and grandfather of Adam, Aidan, and Grace. Funeral will take place at 2.00pm on Saturday, March 14 at Saint Columb’s Cathedral, Derry, followed by burial at Ballyoan Cemetery. House private. Family flowers only. Lovingly remembered by all his family and friends."

Bernadette (Bernie) Grieve, 14 Eastway Gardens, Derry

It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Bernadette (Bernie) Grieve, peacefully at Oakleaves Care Centre on March 11 2026. Late of 14 Eastway Gardens. May she rest in peace. Beloved daughter of the late Celine and Gerald. Loving sister of Mary, Gerry, Dympna, Georgina, Colm and the late Dermot, Petrina and Donal. A much loved aunt to all of her nieces and nephews. Precious friend of Liz. Margaret Jamieson (née Simpson), The Brook, Coleraine

The death has occurred of the late Ann O'Donnell (née McCourt), March 112026, peacefully after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family, at Foyle Hospice, beloved wife of the late Frankie, loving mother to Sean, Rachel, Laura and Ryan, devoted grandmother to Shea, Sophia, Mia, Ben and Jack, dear daughter of the late John and Winnie, cherished sister of Eamon, Mary, John and the late Pat, and a loving aunt.
