Police will be returning to the Foreglen Road, between Claudy and Dungiven, later this evening, Monday, March 23, to conduct scene tests.
These tests are in relation to a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on Sunday, November 2, 2025 and led to the tragic death of a man in his sixties.
The Foreglen Road will be closed between the junctions with the Feeny Road and the Dernaflaw Road between 7pm and 10pm. Diversions will be in place and local residents will be accommodated.
Detective Inspector Connolly, from the Criminal Investigation Department said: “We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of this incident and we believe at this time that the deceased, Patrick Flanagan, was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run road traffic collision. We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area between 1am and 2am on the morning of Sunday, 2nd November and witnessed the collision, or who may have captured dash-cam or other footage from the area, which could assist with our investigation.
