Man for trial to Derry Crown Court charged with wounding with intent

A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on a charge of wounding with intent. 
Conor Doherty (40) of Ardfoyle in Derry appeared at a Preliminary Enquiry at the local Magistrate's Court today. 
He was charged with wounding a man with intent to do grevious bodily harm on July 14 last year.
He was also charged with assaulting the same man on the same date and possessing an offensive weapon namely a Stanley knife.
It was accepted that there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions. 
Doherty said he did not want to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage. 
He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on May 6 and released on bail,
