Defence barrister Sinead Rogan said that Hogan was 'apologetic' when stopped by police, adding that he has 'long standing alcohol issues' and had fallen off the wagon.
He was described as having a 'very relevant record', with 99 previous convictions, including fifteen thefts.
District Judge Oonagh Mullan sentenced him to five months in custody, suspended for one year and ordered him to pay a £50 compensation order.
