The "Irish-accented" soccer revolution in Boston has officially arrived. After claiming back-to-back victories to open their inaugural UPSL Division 1 season, Boston Emeralds FC sit second in the league - defying their "underdog" status through a display of pure Inishowen grit and Derry determination.
The club, co-founded by Derry man Kevin Tarr (Assistant Coach) and Buncrana native Keegan Hegarty (Head Coach), has quickly transplanted the resilient footballing culture of the Northwest of Ireland to the pitches of Dorchester.

Their most recent victory was a testament to that spirit: after going 1-0 up, the Emeralds were forced to play with 10 men for 70 minutes following a red card.
The Emeralds refused to buckle and reclaimed the lead early in the second half and produced a defensive masterclass to secure all three points.

The connection to the North of Ireland is the heartbeat of the club. From the tactical discipline instilled by Hegarty to the senior management experience brought by Tarr, the Emeralds are proving that the underdog narrative only fuels their fire.
The growing fan following at BC High’s McCoy Field reflect a club that is rapidly becoming the pride of the Irish diaspora and the wider Dorchester community.
