A woman who was charged with assaulting her uncle and criminal damage to her grandmother's home has been remanded in custody at Derry Magistrates' Court.
Selena Mongan (28) of Kavanagh Court in Derry was charged with criminal damage, assaulting her uncle and three counts of assaulting police.
All of the offences were said to have occurred on April 18.
The court was told the defendant currently has nine suspended sentences and was in breach of the alcohol condition of her bail.
A police officer connected the accused to the charges and opposed bail.
He told the court that police received a 999 call from Mongan's uncle and grandmother who said the defendant had been drinking in their home all day.
They said she had become angry and kicked a hole in the wall and overturned a table and damaged pictures before allegedly assaulting her uncle.
Mongan was found by police sitting nearby and was 'extremely intoxicated' needing assistance to sit up.
After police helped her up she became aggressive and kicked two officers and limb restraints had to be applied.
A cell van was required to take Mongan into custody where a breath test revealed a reading of twice the legal limit.
While in custody Mongan allegedly spat at an officer resulting in another charge.
At interview she told police she had no recollection of the incidents.
Bail was opposed due to Mongan having 'atrocious bail history' and 'a very relevant record'.
Defence counsel Grainne McAnaney said her client was 'very young to have such a serious alcohol condition'.
She said she needed to get help and asked for bail to allow her to do so.
District Judge Oonagh Mullan said the defendant had done nothing to help herself and continuously breach bail.
She refused bail and remanded Mongan in custody to appear again on April 30.
