A man has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court today charged with fraud by false representation in relation to Derry Credit Union. 

Dut Akumate (51) of Derrymore in Derry was charged with fraud by false representation that could have caused loss to Derry Credit Union on July 20 2023.

He was also charged with possessing articles in connection with fraud including a Canadian passport on the same date.

Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley said that the case could be adjourned for a number of weeks and the defendant will appear again on May 6.
