North West-based sign manufacturer Graphix Signs has announced a significant six-figure investment in cutting-edge print technology, marking a major milestone in the company's continued growth.

The Derry business has successfully installed the first wide-format Jetrix XGR320 printer in Northern Ireland, a 3.2-metre wide UV ink printer, with the addition of a new large-format Epson S9100 signage printer, further enhancing its production capabilities.

This dual investment represents a substantial commitment to innovation and operational excellence, positioning Graphix Signs at the forefront of the region's signage and large-format print industry.

Both machines carry Greenguard Gold certification, underscoring the company's commitment to responsible, low-emission production.

Paul Kerr, Managing Director at Graphix Signs, commented: "This is a hugely exciting period for Graphix as we move into the next phase of our strategic growth plan. Investing in industry-leading technology allows us to bring the very best machinery to the region.

"Not only will this significantly improve our operational efficiency, but it also ensures our clients have access to best-in-class print solutions that meet the highest standards of quality, speed and reliability. We are committed to continually evolving our offering to stay ahead in an increasingly innovative marketplace."

The investment follows the acquisition of a stake in the business by Gray's Communications CEO, Chris Gray, in late 2025. This partnership has provided renewed momentum and a clear vision for expansion.

Chris added: "Graphix Signs is a business with a proud heritage, having traded successfully for over four decades and earning a strong reputation as a trusted supplier to clients across Northern Ireland. My ambition is to build on that legacy by increasing our workforce and expanding our customer base on an all-island level. The arrival of this new print technology also comes as part of wider renovation works across our facility, designed to enhance the overall customer experience. This initial phase of investment clearly demonstrates our intent and commitment to long-term growth, innovation and market leadership.”

Colm McCarthy, Print Production Director at supplier digitalprint.ie, highlighted the impact of the newly installed equipment: "The introduction of the Epson S9100 and the Jetrix XGR320 represents a transformative step forward for the production capabilities at Graphix Signs. The Epson delivers exceptional colour accuracy through its advanced ink set, including green ink for an extended gamut and enhanced vibrancy, making it ideal for high-end display graphics. The Jetrix, meanwhile, with its superwide 3.2-metre print width, significantly increases output capacity with superior speed and the ability to handle an impressive range of job types. Together, these technologies enable the company to meet growing demand, reduce turnaround times and maintain the exceptional quality their clients expect."

Founded over 40 years ago, Graphix Signs has grown from a local signage provider into a leading name in large-format print and visual communications. The company has built its reputation on craftsmanship, reliability and customer-focused service, working with a diverse client base across retail, construction, events and corporate sectors.

This latest investment signals a bold new chapter for the business, reinforcing its commitment to innovation, regional leadership and delivering outstanding results for clients across the island of Ireland.
