Limavady runner Míša Manová has raised an incredible £1,639.73 for local charity and community organisation, Limavady Community Development Initiative, through a unique fundraising effort to mark her 33rd birthday.

Passionate about supporting local charities, Míša was pleased to present the cheque to Karen Cochrane, Social Inclusion Project Officer, helping to support the organisation’s vital work and services.

To celebrate her birthday, Míša set herself the demanding challenge of running a total of 33 kilometres within 27 hours, completing 3.3 kilometres every three hours.

With the encouragement of the local running community, she rose to the occasion in impressive fashion, despite the gruelling nature of the endurance challenge.

The innovative fundraiser took place across April 2 and 3, with Míša joined along the way by friends from the Roe Runners group as well as fellow running enthusiasts from across Limavady and surrounding area.

Reflecting on the experience, Míša shared her gratitude for the outstanding support she received from the local community throughout the challenge:

This is what happens when you connect the joy of running with doing a good thing!

I am really grateful and proud, not only to the running community in Limavady but the whole community itself, for supporting this local charity.

We can do incredible things together!”

Karen Cochrane, the Social Inclusion Project Officer from LCDI thanked Míša for her significant contribution to the charity:

Fantastic donation from Misa from her birthday run!

A huge thank you, and thanks to all who supported her, including her fellow runners from Roe Runners and also a thank you to her employer Sean Clarke for his support and help.

We at LCDI are extremely grateful for all our local community supporting the work we are doing right here in our own community.

Once again local support for local people; thank you from all at LCDI!”
