RE:IMAGINE pop-up shop first week a great success at Foyleside

Mayor Warke with the ten amazing local entrepreneurs that are the masterminds behind the talented local businesses at the RE:IMAGINE pop up shop at Derry's Foyleside

Imagine a high street shop filled with beautiful clothing, homeware and lifestyle products, all created here in the North West.

Imagine a store that champions brand new entrepreneurs, right in the heart of your hometown.

You’ll find all this and more at the RE:IMAGINE Pop Up Shops in Derry's Foyleside.

The pop-up shop launched last weekend with a fantastic turnout and is set to remain open for four months. The prime retail space will provide a launch pad for up-and-coming start-ups and a platform for local businesses.

The launch on March 4 saw a live DJ set by Colm Hinds and Aaron Sweeny with drinks available from The Walled City Brewery and Northbound Brewery.

Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Alderman Graham Warke, attended the launch of the store filled with talented local designers and makers who will be showing their work at the new premises until June.

Mayor Warke said: "I had a fantastic evening at the launch of the Re:IMAGINE Pop Up Shop now open in Foyleside Shopping Centre.

"Ten talented designers and makers will be showcasing their brands at the prime retail location over the coming months – so why not pop in and check out the amazing array of products?

"The scheme is organised by Council, working in conjunction with The Fashion & Textile Design Centre (FTDC) in Derry and BID in Strabane, and is part of the new Start Up Accelerator Programme.

"I was so impressed by the quality of the products, it’s really encouraging for the local economy to see the level of new talent establishing themselves on the high street. Well done to all the businesses involved."

Inside the RE:IMAGINE pop-up shop, you can shop their fantastic products and meet the people behind the brands.

The amazing local talent that launched the pop-up shop and continue to trade include Amach, Celtic Irish Art, Coalesce Wearable Art, Connie Ann alongside In_Chlomo, Koto Candles, Oh Sew Design Co., Piece Makers, SO 27 Skincare and VS Mend & Make Do.

You’ll also get a glimpse of what a revived high street could look like; a bustling hub, celebrating fresh talent alongside established names, creating jobs and skills, and supporting sustainable practices.

The RE:IMAGINE Pop Up on Foyleside Level 3 will feature five start-up businesses plus existing local labels and one start-up exclusively taking over Pagoda in Strabane.

All the start-ups will receive mentoring, marketing and technical assistance from the initiative, part of Derry and Strabane’s StartUp Accelerator Programme.
