On top of this, a Charity Night in memory of Noel O’Donnell by The Strathfoyle Community Association raised nearly £2300. The night was held at the Gransha Club in memory of local Strathfoyle resident Mr Noel O’Donnell.
Noel was one of the founding members of Strathfoyle Community Association as well as a local youth worker, referee and dedicated community and parish member. The group said: "Noel was widely respected throughout Derry and further afield with various involvements in other causes as well as sport. We will not see the likes of Noel again and his loss has been felt across our community and the city."

All donations have been made directly to the Foyle Hospice. Spanning over a period of 35 years, Foyle Hospice has become synonymous with palliative care services and support across the North West.
Ailbhe McDaid, Community Fundraising Officer at Foyle Hospice, said that this vital fundraising for Foyle Hospice ensures their specialist palliative care can continue to be delivered to patients and their families throughout Derry and the North West.
Ms McDaid said: “Care provided by Foyle Hospice includes community care, where our Specialist Palliative Care Team can care for patients in their own homes. We also have an In-patient unit that provides medical care for our patients in a relaxed and homely setting.
"We also have an Integrative Care Clinic where patients call to receive treatment then return home and a Day Hospice where patients can meet up, take part in activities and relax. We also offer pre and post bereavement services to children and adults.”
Ailbhe added: “We rely heavily on the kindness of our local community for donations as almost 65% of funds come from our thoughtful donors. We would like to thank the local community for all their support of Foyle Hospice. It means we can continue to provide all of these services to those who really need them.”
