Tristar girls celebrate winning the U11 D&D Cup Final.
D&D Under 11 Cup Final
Tristar Girls FC 3
Sion Swifts Sparks 1
A cold afternoon in Magee didn’t stop the Tristar girls winning their third trophy of the season against a very good Sion Swifts outfit in the first ever D&D Under 11 Cup
Sion swifts didn’t make it easy for the girls and it was a very competitive game start to finish! A special shout out to the Sion goalkeeper who pulled off some amazing saves throughout.
Tristar took the early lead with a smashing goal from Ella Kennedy, who then quickly added a second. Sion battled hard and pulled a goal back just before the break. Ella Kennedy then added another to her hat trick tally to give Tristar a two-goal lead.
Sion kept the pressure on though but Darcy Faulkner and Zara Wade were excellent in the defence with amazing leadership skills. A quality partnership! Alexander Khaidukova proved again her on form goalkeeping skills by shutting down all Sion’s hits on the net.
Ella Kennedy, Jessica Mullan and Eabha O’Hagan controlled the midfield brilliantly while Ella Ramsey and Clara O Doherty displayed their wizardary skills down the wing, causing many headaches for the Sion team. Brooke Porter and Caitlin Fisher added a wealth of speed and control to the forward line and plenty of chances.
A massive well done to the girls for a brilliant display of football. The future is bright for Tristar Girls and all girls football in the Derry and North West area.
