Derry has been listed as the city with the second-most independent businesses and restaurants in the UK.
A study was conducted by Small Business Saturday looking at over 17,000 small businesses across 50 of the largest cities in the UK.
The study reviewed independent restaurants, cafés, coffee shops, book shops, clothing shops, bakeries, record stores, and art studios and shops, looking at the best and highly reviewed places.
The city came in as the UK’s 2nd best city for independent businesses and independent restaurants.
It was also listed as the city with the most independent art and pottery businesses.
Derry is renowned for supporting local, shopping in local businesses and dining in independently owned food spots.
Independent Derry, an organisation which focuses on giving independent businesses around Derry recognition said this survey confirms what they already knew; that Derry is one of the best places for independent businesses.
They wrote: "We’ve always believed that Derry has some of the best small businesses around. It’s why we do what we do and what makes us unique to everyone else. Remember to keep shopping local this Christmas."
