This Wednesday (21st December 2022) is Northlands’ flag day, and – as well as appealing to people’s generosity – the charity is asking for their support, this Christmas, in raising awareness about the help available for people suffering from addiction.
The Chairman of Northlands Addiction Treatment Centre, Roe Butcher, wishes to send a positive and proactive message to communities across the North that recovery is possible.
“Together we can give people the gift of hope this Christmas,” he says.
Roe Butcher said: "For many decades now, Northlands has received support at Christmas flag day, not only in monetary terms through donations but also in helping us to raise awareness that help is out there for those struggling with an addiction.
"The Northlands Addiction Treatment Centre has been providing residential rehabilitation treatment and non-residential counselling for people with addiction for almost 50 years.
"Anyone who comes to Northlands, whether out of an awareness of their own problem or as a concerned family member, will be supported by our team. If you or someone you know needs help, you can call us at Northlands on (028) 71313232.
"It is important that people know that help is out there."
Mr Butcher continued: "Northlands is the regional residential facility for Northern Ireland, and we continue to help people battling with addiction and their families right across Northern Ireland.
"To ensure that people are aware of our service and that there is help for those struggling with addiction, this flag day we are asking you to help us raise awareness. We want to send a positive and proactive message to communities across the North, that recovery is possible.
"You can help us by doing the following this Wednesday 21st December:
"1. Sharing our graphic on your social media pages with the hashtag #RecoveryIsPossible
"2. Consider displaying our graphic as a profile picture or banner to raise awareness.
"3. Raising awareness by linking your followers to our social media platforms to learn about our services: Facebook: @northlandsderry, Twitter: @_Northlands, Instagram: @northlandscentre
"Together we can give people the gift of hope this Christmas – hope that recovery is possible."
