Letterkenny’s non-stop celebration of Irish music starts tomorrow

Trad Week January 20-28 promises music song and craic galore

Letterkenny’s non-stop celebration of Irish music starts tomorrow

Sibéal and Na Casaidigh who kick off Trad Week in Letterkenny tomorrow night, Friday, January 20

Traditional Irish music is social, it's oral, it's diverse and it's so accessible and if you are in Letterkenny over the next few days you can find that out for yourself!

Trad Week, Letterkenny’s annual celebration of Irish traditional, folk and world music, presented by the Regional Cultural Centre and An Grianán Theatre makes a welcome return to its usual January slot.

From tomorrow, Friday, January 20 to Saturday, January 28, the organisers will present a host of world-class musical acts, as well as lots of free events, including Ceol na nÓg/Young People’s Trad Session, Pop-Up Gaeltacht and Trad Session and two lunchtime concerts in The Eatery at An Grianán Theatre.

Check out what's on offer at: https://regionalculturalcentre.com/TRAD-WEEK/

The first concert is on tomorrow night, Friday, January  20 in the Regional Cultural Centre with Sibéal and Na Casaidigh

This exciting double header features a musical family with strong roots in Gaoth Dobhair in the West Donegal Gaeltacht - the legendary folk group, Na Casaidigh and rising star Sibéal Ní Chasaide, known mononymously as Sibéal, who has become a household name for her haunting melismatic sean-nós singing style.

Other musical highlights over the coming days include Jiggy, Lisa O’Neill and Cormac Begley, Skipper’s Alley, Landless, Branwen, Clann Mhic Ruairí and TRÚ.

This non-stop celebration of sound is not just about the music, it's so much more.
