Families were back at St Patrick’s NS, Lurgybrack for the making of St Brigid’s crosses during the week.

Children from the two second classes - who are preparing to make First Holy Communion - were busy weaving rushes.

Parents and grandparents visited to help in the making of the crosses on February 1, the feast day of St Brigid.

This was the first such day in three years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Refreshments were provided by the parents’ association.

Fr Dominic Thoomkuzhy also got a lesson on making the crosses, which he blessed for those present.
