Public consultations on the development of a Greenway project take place at the end of this month Photo: Kate Slevin
The development of a Greenway between Ballybofey-Stranorlar and Donegal Town moves a step closer this week with the news that a public consultation event on the proposal takes place at the end of this month.
Donegal County Council with the support of Transport Infrastructure Ireland has invited residents from both areas, members of the public and other interested parties to participate in the event.
The project is currently in the initial concept stage, which involves the identification of a project study area and the key constraints and opportunities located within it.
The purpose of this public consultation is to inform the public of the project and to invite feedback on the current study area, the constraints identified and any other issues/opportunities that the design team should consider.
To facilitate this, two in-person public consultation events will take place on Wednesday, February 22 between 12 noon and 8pm in the Abbey Hotel, The Diamond, Donegal Town and again on Thursday, February 23 between the same times in Jackson's Hotel, Glenfin Street, Ballybofey
Anyone looking for additional project information, or to complete the feedback form online, can visit the dedicated project website at https://barnesmoregapgreenway.ie
Information will also be accessible online from Friday, February 17. Submissions will be accepted until Friday, March 10.
If you cannot attend one of the in-person events and are unable to access the website, you can contact the project team by phone at (074) 97 24500 (9am to 4pm Monday – Friday), by e-mail at
design@dnrdo.ie or by post at National Roads Office, Drumlonagher, Donegal Town, Co Donegal
